PERSPECTIVE IN PRACTICE
Overview
Perspective in Practice is a cohort-based experience designed to help organizations build the internal capability to lead meaningful conversations about perspective, identity, and decision-making – before those conversations are needed in high-stakes moments.
Rather than relying on CLU to facilitate every session, this experience prepares Team Leaders and Team Members to engage with The Viewing Deck thoughtfully, confidently, and responsibly.
Why This Exists
Many organizations invest in powerful facilitated moments—and then struggle to sustain the learning without external support.Perspective in Practice exists to close that gap.
It helps teams:
- Develop shared language before difficult conversations arise
- Prepare leaders to hold space rather than manage outcomes
- Reduce reliance on repeated external facilitation
- Create a repeatable, values-aligned way to practice perspective together
This experience is for organizations ready to move from one-off insight to ongoing capability.
LEARN MORE ABOUT PERSPECTIVE IN PRACTICEHow it Works
Perspective in Practice unfolds in three connected phases, each designed to prepare the next.
Phase 1: Cohort Preparation (The CLU Academy)
Team Leaders and Team Members move through a short, focused course over two to three weeks. Some modules are shared to build common understanding. Others are role-specific, giving Team Leaders deeper preparation than a facilitation guide alone can provide.
Team Members Focus on:
- Understanding the purpose and design of The Viewing Deck
- Learning how to listen without correcting or fixing
- Entering the experience with curiosity rather than defensiveness
- Knowing what to expect in the in-person session
Team Leader focuses on:
- Holding space instead of steering conversation
- Facilitating across multiple tables
- Recognizing when to intervene and when to step back
- Avoiding common facilitation missteps
- Developing judgment, not scripts
Phase 2: Facilitation Readiness Checkpoint
After completing the course, Team Leaders schedule a required readiness call with CLU prior to leading the in-person session. This call isn't training or coaching, it's a final checkpoint.
During the call, CLU:
- Confirms facilitation readiness
- Reviews session setup and flow
- Surfaces potential risks or blind spots
- Reinforces facilitation posture and restraint
This step protects the integrity of the experience – for both the organization and the participants.
Phase 3: Team Leader–Led In-Person Session
With preparation complete, Team Leaders facilitate an in-person Viewing Deck session using CLU-designed materials and structure.
Organizations receive physical:
- Viewing Decks
- Facilitation Guides
- Player Workbooks
This ensures:
- Every table is supported
- Every participant has space for private reflection
- Facilitation can happen concurrently without dilution
The in-person session is where insight emerges. The cohort experience is what makes that session meaningful.

How This Compares
If CLU facilitates the session:
You get a powerful, expertly held moment, led entirely by CLU.
If you choose Perspective in Practice:
You build the internal capability to lead the work yourselves – now and in the future.
Both are valid.
Perspective in Practice is designed and supported by The CLU Studio, an organization focused on building emotional intelligence and internal facilitation capability. Learn more about The CLU Studio.
