about us
The Viewing Deck was born from a simple but powerful truth: we don’t see the world as it is. We see it as we are. Our experiences shape our perspective, and that perspective creates blind spots, often without our awareness.
Inspired by Bias Hurts, The CLU Studio’s global research initiative on how bias shows up in workplace culture, The Viewing Deck™ was created as a way for leaders and teams to step outside their default lens and explore how identity, context, and perception shape decision-making at work.
Created by The CLU Studio Founder and CEO Steffon Isaac, The Viewing Deck invites players into real-world workplace scenarios and asks them to respond from identities that are not their own. The experience slows people down, shifts how they listen, and makes room for reflection before reaction. What emerges is not agreement or performance, but clarity.
The Viewing Deck is part of a broader ecosystem designed by The CLU Studio to support perspective-taking at different levels. Some teams begin by exploring the deck on their own. Others add structure through Facilitation Essentials. Organizations ready to build internal capability participate in Perspective in Practice, a cohort-based experience that prepares teams to lead the work themselves.
At the heart of all of it is CLU’s mission: to help people work better together by strengthening emotional intelligence, awareness, and connection. Through research, facilitated experiences, games, and learning programs, The CLU Studio designs conditions where meaningful conversations can happen with care.
The Viewing Deck is one tool in that system.
“I sought to create a game that was about playing to learn, instead of playing to win.”

The Viewing Deck™ is a breakthrough team experience that helps you step outside your perspective and explore how identity shapes the way we lead, collaborate, and make decisions. It’s not just a tool—it’s a new way to see your organization.
